polka dotted dress

Black and white and yellow again!  This dress is a staple of my summer wardrobe.  It ties in the black to keep things nice and pulled in right at my waist, and I love the pattern.  Plus it matches my yellow bag.


Hair is left in it's most natural state.  No braids, no buns, no heat, just curls.

Adding sleeves to a summer dress

I'm starting to put together more transitionary outfits - summer dresses paired with sleeves for the slightly colder temperatures. 

I really enjoy yellow on black and white.

 Hair is pulled into an extra large side bun.  Can't quite recall how I made this one happen - I think just a lot of pins and pulling.

Summery

Many many people commented on how summery I looked today.  This color does garner a lot of comments, usually.  I accidentally carried my yellow bag with me to work, causing a yellow on yellow overdose.  So ashamed.

 My hair is pinned up in a messy bun.  I used pins to try to create as much volume in the back as I could manage, and topped it with a flowery headband.

Orange dress goes to work

Another summery work outfit.  Had a meeting or two today, so the collared pinstripe button down makes this strappy orange dress work appropriate.  I knotted it to draw attention to my waist and take full advantage of the pretty skirt. 

Love my yellow bag.

simple hair and sexy shoes

 Another work outfit for a meeting filled day.  I got this shirt many many years ago in England.  It was a favorite for a long time, but now I feel like it's too long and not as flattering as I once thought.  Solution - tucking it in to my favorite thrifted work skirt.

How hot are these shoes?  Makes me feel like a sexy victorian headmistress.

Hair is about as simple as it gets.  No secret sock, no braids, just a bun held together with lots of pins.  And a little flower because I couldn't resist.

I wore this to work on a hot, summer day.  No meetings so it falls on the casual side.  The skirt got a lot more play last year, it reads a little too prairie for me this year.  However, looks sharp enough with the black top, and is the perfect chance to rock my favorite pink lipstick. 

Hair is also breezy - second day hair with braids the previous day giving it that kink.  I added volumizing powder and just tried to make it as big as possible.
